Orientation and theme of the conference

Alter, European Society for Disability Research (AESDR) was founded in 2011 by the Editorial Board of the Journal Alter-European Journal of Disability Research / Revue Européenne de Recherche sur le Handicap as international society with the aim of fostering scholarly and interdisciplinary social sciences and humanities research. A particular emphasis is given on the plurality of scientific approaches and knowledge (theoretical, applied, grounded in the experience of disability) provided by this research area. It is an open intellectual society and welcomes all who have an interest in disability without exception or particular orientation.
